The Artíste’s Flare
No, there is not a typo in my title. I realize that one would expect me to use the word “flair” instead, but I’m making a pun. It’s really obscure and I don’t expect any of you to catch it. It’s pretty bad (no, not dirty!). Second off, I meant to have this post to be a part of the previous one, but that one quickly grew out of control so I decided to break them up. Don’t worry, this one doesn’t have nearly as many boring words and way more pretty pictures.
I have more pictures from my garden to display. It’s nearing the end of August and thus, the growing season. I’m going to try for a couple of fall crops soon, like carrots, spinach, and lettuce once more, but definitely on a smaller scale.
I had planted a great variety of vegetables and flowers, as well as herbs, but very few actually grew. Even so, what did grow to maturity was very pretty and last Sunday morning I was so struck by the beauty of the zinnias and the sunflowers that I had a little photo shoot. I didn’t expect the variety of colors, nor the height from the zinnia. I had this idea they would be three or four inches at the most. I had no disillusions about the sunflowers, but I am still amazed when I walk up to them and find myself looking up slightly. That is wicked-awesome!
I’m not going to offer much commentary on these. Each picture will be a link, itself, to the larger version so you can see it up close. I was very impressed with how these turned out and I hope you enjoy them.
